When I was here, I was able to focus on conversation with people, I could keep my train of thought. I could pay attention to the classes here that were very enlightening and informative. So I was so grateful I was learning without medication and understanding what people are saying to me rather than dissociating and not being able to listen because my brain could not focus… Now I take only half of my ADHD meds, only on exam days, and was able to taper everything else off.”

Emotionally distraught, felt alone, unsupported, isolated.I felt very supported by staff, and the people in the program. Emotionally, I feel loved, supported and cared for.
Anxious: anxiety attacks, panic attacks, on anti-anxiety medication.
Depressed – on antidepressants for about a year.
I worked on my anxiety and depression. Eating healthy, having certain massages, doing yoga, fitness classes, having support, the progress kept going. My body was healing, I was waking up, got off my medications, I was happy/laughing. I felt I was a part of the world I fit in. I was seeing love everywhere.
Struggled with weight issues for a long time. Food is the biggest trigger. I had a healthy weight loss, while eating 3 meals a day, healthy snacks, eating healthy, having a routine, and was not feeling deprived. I felt full, happy and healthy. Being around food and building a healthy relationship with it was very incredible. When weight fluctuated, I learned to understand, love and accept my body for the way it is. I lost 6 lbs. during the program. I like where I am, I feel good. Whether I gain or lose a little, I don’t hate food or my body anymore – because now I can eat without counting calories constantly.
Lacking sleep (on medication), energy, motivation. I’ve had insomnia for years. Racing thoughts. Restless. Got off my medication. I feel energized. My mood is better, I sleep better. Realized that a lot of my energy was from a lack of healthy food and nutrition.
Lack of focus and eyesight. I would get headaches and migraines, blurry vision. My brain focus and attention span (neurological part of being) got better while not taking the medication. My eyesight is incredibly better. I can focus on conversations with people and keep my train of thought. I could pay attention to educational classes and feel grateful to learn without medication. To stay in the moment, stay present and understand what people are saying to me vs. disassociating because I can’t focus.
