Emotional Wellness and General Wellbeing: I was in an emotional crisis, would be the best way to put it. I was suffering from acute depression and anxiety. Sciatic and Back Pain: I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease and osteoarthritis several years ago. I was in chronic sciatic pain for the last 6 months. It was completely debilitating and agonizing and frustrating. And I would cry all the time because of my pain. | In the last like 2 weeks, we've gone from pain level of 10 to 1 or 2, and I had one day where I was 5... I’m no longer in sciatic pain, which is crazy to me. We definitely had some ups and downs, but like anything there was a lot of work in it and with the different types of therapies, I've managed to be pretty much pain free in 12 days. Insomnia & Exhaustion: I've never slept through the night in my life. I was sleeping maybe anywhere from one to three hours a night. A good night would be sleeping maybe two hours, wake up for four hours and sleep another two or three. So I never got into the proper deep REM sleep for months. | I'm sleeping through the night, except getting up a few times to the washroom and go right back to sleep. I don't have to be woken up. I don't even use an alarm clock. I wake up naturally between five thirty and six thirty in the morning, and I am fully energized and ready to go. |
Medications: my family doctor put me on an anti-anxiety and anti-depression medication and I really didn't want to take it. I ended up taking it for about a week prior to coming here because I knew I was coming here so I basically mitigated the worst of the worst feelings to come here. | I literally just stopped taking all my medications since I've been here. I didn't take any pain reliever, except for like one day where it was pretty bad, but that was it. I haven't taken any antidepressants since I've been here. I weaned myself off of everything, and I haven't taken any of my ADHD medication really since I've been here either. |
ADHD: I was told that everything was wrong with me. I was taking Adderall daily. Adderall is a it is only in your system for a very short period of time so that's not a drug that you have to wean yourself off of, and it's a conscious choice to have to take that medication every day to help with. | Managing symptoms of ADHD naturally is definitely something that I've learned here. I sometimes I do need the medication but I don't think I need it every day. ADHD is not a problem, but more of an advantage. It really boils down to perspective, self-love and self-acceptance. |
